比福山想象的还要激烈得多：人类的未来不是美国式的自由主义乌托邦的实现，而是在下面两个未来里选一个：不是中国和新加坡式的威权主义式亚洲价值引领下的资本主义或如今的中国特色的社会主义，就是海地式的未来；人类的未来不是像今天的中国那样，就是像今天的海地那样：
The future will be Hegelian-and much more radically than Fukuyama thinks. The only true alternative that awaits us-the alternative between socialism and communism-is the alternative between the two Hegels. We have already noted how Hegel's "conservative" vision uncannily points forward to "capitalism with Asian values": a capitalist civil society organized into estates and kept in check by a strong authoritarian state with managerial "public servants" and traditional values. (Contemporary Japan comes close to this model.) The choice is either this Hegel-or the Hegel of Haiti. It is as if the split into Old and Young Hegelians is to be re- enacted once again（《先悲剧后闹剧》，109）.
这话还大可深挖：原以为，中国通过痛苦的原始资本主义积累，就会渐渐走向民主和资产阶级公民社会和美国式法治社会，L阿波们就是借着这个顺风，来出售他们的口号的，我们大陆知识分子几乎人人都做着这样一场美梦。齐泽克干净利索地说，这一天永远不会到来；全人类不是滑入像今天的中国的这种现实里，就是进入海地那样的众生颠倒的状况中。所以，一百年后如果资本主义还存在，德国哲学家史罗戴克认为，最该塑像的是李光耀。是李光耀和邓X平救了全球资本主义！换句话说，今天的中国，才是世界的未来！中国的当代现实正在将全世界吞进去！
